Celebrating 50 Years of Dedicated Priesthood

Rt. Rev. Callist RubaramiraA truly remarkable milestone is on the horizon! On May 18th, 2025, The Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Chancellor of St. Ignatius University Kabale (IGUKA) and the Ordinary Bishop of Kabale Diocese, will celebrate his Golden Jubilee – 50 years of devoted priesthood. The entire IGUKA community extends its warmest congratulations to Bishop Rubaramira on this momentous occasion, wishing him abundant continued blessings and unwavering strength in his sacred calling.

Throughout his 22 years of service as Bishop, he has made an indelible impact on the Diocese through his tireless efforts in spiritual guidance and community social-economic development projects. A notable initiative, the Bishops Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) Project, has enabled the establishment of various community-benefiting projects, including:

*   Buildings in Kisoro, Kabale, and Rukungiri Districts, currently hosting Centenary Bank, generating income and fostering economic growth.

*   Radio Maria Uganda Kabale, providing a platform for community engagement, education, and evangelization.

*   St. Ignatius University Kabale, offering hands-on higher education opportunities to the community.

These projects demonstrate Bishop Rubaramira’s commitment to empowering the community, extending beyond the church to promote holistic human development. His contributions span various sectors, including:

*   Education: From primary to university levels, fostering knowledge and growth.

*   Health: Improving healthcare services for the well-being of the community.

*   Socio-Economic development: Initiatives in the coal sector and agriculture, promoting sustainable livelihoods.

*   Financial sustainability: Advocating for economic empowerment at the family level, emphasizing self-sufficiency and resilience.
