IGUKA Education Students Reflect on School Practice Experience

IGUKA Education Students, led by Sr. KATUSIIME GORRETI are sharing insights from their school practice placements across different schools, using Bishop Asili Memorial Nursery and Primary School and Child Africa Nursery and Primary in Kabale as a key case study.

Sr. Gorreti recently reflected on her time at Bishop Asili, highlighting how she applied teaching methods, lesson planning, and child-centered approaches learned through IGUKA’s Education Programme. She also noted the value of teamwork, classroom management, and collaboration with school staff in strengthening teaching practice.

“Bishop Asili shows what meaningful school practice looks like,” Sr. Gorreti said. “It’s a place where theory meets the classroom, and trainees grow in confidence and competence.”

Her experience reflects IGUKA’s hands-on training model, guided by the motto: *Inspire. Empower. Transform. preparing educators to shape Uganda’s primary classrooms.
