The St. Ignatius University Kabale Scholarship Committee, with the blessing of the University Senate, held a momentous ceremony on February 12th, 2025. The occasion, a testament to the university’s dedication to supporting bright and ambitious students, saw nine scholarships awarded to exceptional individuals pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Tourism, Heritage, and Leisure Management, and Diploma in Agriculture programs.
Scholarship Recipients & Eligibility
The scholarships were awarded to students from needy families within the parishes of Kabale Diocese. These students had demonstrated academic excellence in their Advanced level of education. Despite financial limitations, the recipients, who were part of the January 2024/2025 intake, exemplified a strong commitment to their studies and a drive to excel in their chosen fields.
Guest of Honour’s Address
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Willy Turyahikayo, the Assistant Diocesan Education Secretary for Kabale Diocese, who served as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Turyahikayo delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of seizing this opportunity and urging the scholars to become ambassadors of the university, representing it with pride and integrity.
Scholarship Categories & Commitment
The scholarships were awarded under two categories: the Bishops scheme and the Parish Scholarship. This approach highlights the university’s commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and providing them with the resources needed to excel academically.
Future Impact & University’s Confidence
The university is confident that these talented scholars will make a positive impact in their communities. In the words of Mr. Turyahikayo, “Become ambassadors of this university, and let your actions reflect the values that we hold dear. Represent us with pride, and let the world see the best of St. Ignatius University Kabale.”
