On September 25, 2025; In a momentous ceremony held at the university grounds, the IGUKA Scholarship Committee announced the awarding of 54 scholarships to deserving students. The event was led by Dr. Diana Kwarikunda, Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, whose dedicated leadership has been instrumental in advancing the university’s social responsibility initiatives.

The scholarships, categorized into Parish, Bishops Scheme, and Orphans and Vulnerable groups, aim to support students in their academic pursuits while fostering active engagement within the university community. The recipients were selected based on merit and need, reflecting the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
 Following her remarks, the guest of honor, Mr. Byamukama Remegio, the Kabale Diocesan Education Secretary, delivered an inspiring speech. A seasoned educator with extensive experience as a secondary school teacher, Director of Studies, Deputy Headteacher, and retired Headteacher, Mr. Byamukama expressed pride in witnessing the transformation of his primary school into a university. He urged students to make responsible life choices, including awareness of HIV/AIDS, and to avoid drug abuse and alcohol, emphasizing the importance of leadership and integrity.

Dr. Kwarikunda then reiterated the significance of the scholarships. She emphasized that while the awards are a great honor, they come with responsibilities, including maintaining high academic standards and active participation in university activities. She cautioned that students who experience academic retakes or neglect their responsibilities risk losing their scholarships, urging recipients to approach this opportunity with seriousness and commitment.
