IGUKA—October, 2026 : Agriculture students at St. Ignatius University Kabale (IGUKA) participated in an off-campus study focusing on vehicle engine parts and systems as part of their farm mechanization training.
The study provided students with an opportunity to explore the practical aspects of vehicle engines, understand the functions of different engine components, and gain insights into the systems that support the operation and maintenance of agricultural machinery.
The learning activity aligns with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) currently in operation, which emphasizes practical skills, hands-on experience, and the application of classroom knowledge to real-world situations. Through such learning experiences, students are encouraged to develop the technical knowledge and competencies necessary to address challenges in the agricultural sector.
Understanding vehicle engine parts and systems is an important aspect of farm mechanization, as agricultural machinery plays a vital role in improving productivity, reducing manual labour, and promoting efficiency in modern farming.
Through off-campus learning activities, IGUKA continues to promote practical, skills-oriented education that prepares students for the demands of the workplace and empowers them to contribute meaningfully to agricultural development.
