IGUKA REPRESENTED AT UVCF MEETING

St. Ignatius University Kabale (IGUKA) made a notable appearance at the Uganda Vice Chancellors’ Forum (UVCF) meeting held at Uganda Christian University (UCU) on March 16, 2026. Ms. Akampwera Patricia, Quality Assurance Officer, and Mr. Ainomuhangi Josephat, Public Relations Officer, represented IGUKA.

The meeting, chaired by UVCF Chairperson Prof. Paul Waako, Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, featured Prof. James Njeru, Executive Director of the African Institute of Capacity Development (AICAD), as keynote speaker. Prof. Waako encouraged VCs to meet Forum obligations, including timely payment of dues, to boost UVCF’s effectiveness.

Prof. Njeru highlighted benefits of universities subscribing to AICAD, citing collective benefits for Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. He revealed that each member university is required to pay an annual subscription fee of $3000, emphasizing that collective membership amplifies benefits.

UVCF Executive Director Prof. Eriabu Lugujjo appreciated VCs for always sending Academic Registrars and Quality Assurance Officers for meetings whenever they’re called, acknowledging their commitment to enhancing university standards. The event provided a platform for universities to share best practices and address common challenges.
