On March 20, 2026, IGUKA’s Governing Council, chaired by Prof. Nazarius Mbona Tumwesigye, and Management, led by Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Prof. Maximiano Ngabirano, held a landmark meeting with academic and administrative staff and student representatives. Union President H.E. Akansasira Merrick, Union secretaries, and Councillors were in attendance, making it a vibrant gathering of university stakeholders.
The meeting centered on promoting creativity, innovation, and research, with Prof. Tumwesigye emphasizing the importance of publishing research findings and striving for excellence in all endeavors. Staff and students were reminded to uphold the university’s values and God-fearing principles, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Prof. Ngabirano assured staff and students of the council’s and management’s unwavering support, acknowledging their tireless efforts in promoting academic excellence.
