Dr. TomBbosa is aFood Scientist, Nutritionist, researcher, and academic with over thirteen years of experience in university teaching, research, curriculum development, student supervision, and community engagement. He serves as an Academic and Coordinator of Community Engagement and Experiential Learning at St. Ignatius University Kabale (IGUKA).

He holds a PhD in Engineering Technology from KU Leuven, Belgium(2026), specializing in Sustainable Food Product Development, Nutrition and Economic Evaluation, as well as an MSc in Applied Human Nutrition and aBSc in Food Science and Technology from Makerere University. His expertise includes food technology, human nutrition, sustainable food systems, food product development, sensory evaluation, and economic evaluation of food-based interventions. His current research focuses on developing sustainable, nutrient-dense food products using edible insects to improve nutrition outcomes among vulnerable populations.

At IGUKA, he is committed to strengthening university–community partnerships, experiential learning, research, innovation, and community-based food and nutrition initiatives.
