On March 21, 2026, the IGUKA Governing Council, led by Prof. Nazarius Mbona Tumwesigye, visited various university estates as part of their meeting activities. The council members toured the Skilling Engineering Center, currently under construction, the Carpentry workshop, and Kitumba land for Agriculture. The Kitumba land is where Agriculture students do their practicals, getting a glimpse of the university’s hands-on approach to learning.
This visit was part of the council’s second day of meetings, following a productive session with staff and students on March 20, 2026. The council is committed to supporting IGUKA’s growth and development, aligning with its motto to inspire, empower, and transform the community.
The visit aimed at assessing progress, identify areas for improvement, and explore opportunities for innovation and growth. The Skilling Engineering Center’s ongoing construction is expected to boost the university’s technical and vocational training capabilities. The council reviewed progress and discussed plans for its completion and operationalization.
The Skilling Engineering Center is under construction, with ongoing works enhancing the university’s technical and vocational training capabilities. The workshops being constructed include textile, woodworks, metal works, construction, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
