The Vice Chancellor of St. Ignatius University Kabale (IGUKA), Rev. Fr. Prof. Maximiano Ngabirano, emphasized the importance of hands-on and competence-based education at the Headteachers Association meeting of Catholic-founded secondary schools in Kabale Diocese. He stressed that this approach is crucial in equipping students with the skills needed to compete globally. Prof. Ngabirano highlighted IGUKA’s efforts to establish a research hub in Kigezi, citing its potential to drive innovation and development in the region. He urged educators to work together to produce job creators, not seekers.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Peter Atekyereza, Chairman of the Education Commission Kabale Diocese and chairperson of the Academic and Quality Assurance of IGUKA Governing Council, commended the headteachers for their tireless efforts in promoting education in Kabale Diocese.
He encouraged them to share their achievements, emphasizing the value of collaboration and collective progress .
