Today, October 30th, marked a bittersweet moment at IGUKA University as Dr. Diana Kwarikunda, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, handed over her responsibilities. The Vice Chancellor expressed heartfelt gratitude for her tireless efforts and dedication over the past 1 year and 4 months.
During her tenure, Dr. Kwarikunda made significant contributions to the university, developing numerous policies, spearheading curriculum development, and ensuring timely approval of results. She also fostered partnerships with various organizations, initiated grant projects, and drove staff improvement programs. Notably, Dr. Kwarikunda chaired the scholarship committee, served as Chairperson of the Senate, ensured compliance with standards, and led several curriculum reviews to maintain quality.
Her dedication to academic excellence has left a lasting impact on the university. Dr. Kwarikunda has ensured a seamless transition, leaving no outstanding financial obligations. She advised the incoming Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to prioritize quality, a testament to her commitment to excellence during her tenure.
As she departs to join Busitema University as a Senior Lecturer, the IGUKA community will deeply miss her remarkable leadership. Dr. Kwarikunda expressed appreciation to the community and promised continued support to the university’s academic division. The Vice Chancellor wished Dr. Kwarikunda well in her new role and noted that her legacy at IGUKA will undoubtedly endure, inspiring the university community for years to come.
