Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor

Reports to:             Vice Chancellor

Duty Station:          Kabale 

i.     Purpose of the job.

The Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor is to organize the Office of Vice Chancellor.

ii.    Minimum Qualifications The candidate must have:

a)     Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Secretarial Studies, Law, Education, Business Studies, Social Sciences or any other relevant field from a recognized University.

b)     At least three years’ experience in a similar job in a reputable institution.

c)      Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

iii. Duties and Responsibilities

The Executive Assistant is responsible to the Vice Chancellor and shall:

a)    Be responsible for the smooth running of the Vice Chancellor’s Office.

b)    Attend all meetings chaired by the Vice Chancellor unless otherwise stated.

c)    Be secretary to the University Management Committee.

d)    Manage appointments for the Vice Chancellor.

e)    Prepare all documents needed for meetings of the Vice Chancellor.

f)     Ensure good customer care to visitors of the Vice Chancellor’s Office and take minutes of such meetings with visitors as may be required by the Vice Chancellor.

g)    Carry out any other function or duties assigned from time to time.

iv. Tenure of Appointment

The successful candidate shall be employed on contract for three (3) years renewable, subject to satisfactory performance
